Who Are We
Erika Bester is the founder of Fire Quill Publishers. Her love for novels is beyond words, and she has a unique gift for seeing the potential in each and every author she meets. She values each novel for its own unique story, and believes wholeheartedly in their truly magical ability to reach audiences around the world. Her interests include YA, NA, fantasy, paranormal, and erotica. Her favorite authors of all time are Suzanne Collins, J.R.R Tolkien, Terry Pratchett, George R.R. Martin, Patricia Briggs and many more.
Carlyle Labuschage is the co-founder of Fire Quill Publishing. She loves and works in the marketing industry, and has a talent for getting FQP authors‘ novels out into the market place. Other than losing herself in words of others, she loves to swim, fights for trees, and is a food lover who is driven by her passion for life. Carlyle also writes for IU e-Magazine India, an inspirational non-profit magazine that aims at inspiring the world through words. Carlyle is also the founder of the first annual book drive―Help Build A Library in Africa Project. Her favorite genres are sci-fi, YA, dystopian, and anything with good, well-developed characters, plots, and story line.
Monique Fischer is our Acquisitions Editor and also one of our content editors. All submissions should be directed for her attention. She is presently studying at UNISA in South Africa for her degree in editing. She loves everything to do with books, from covers to reviews to discovering a hidden gem. She will read all genres but fantasy, sci-fi, paranormal, thrillers, and mysteries, always get first priority. She does love a good romance, too, and nothing beats curling up on the couch at the end of the day with a book to get lost in.
Sandra Valente is one of our editors, as well as proofreader (line editing) at FQP. Books and the written word have been her passion from a very young age, so much so, she’s spent most of life falling in love with fictional characters and writing poems. Her love of fiction, grammar, reading, and newfound attempt at penning her own novel―which she hopes to complete before she’s old, grey, and decrepit―comes across in her utter dedication when working on an author’s novel. As a result, she’s often found burning the midnight oil. Besides her obvious love of reading, she’s an avid creator of book tour banners; a wannabe graphic designer, runs a book review blog, is a huge animal lover, cries at the drop of a hat whether over a book or movie, and is passionate about helping people.
Jessie Campbell is an editor at FQP. A frequent panelist at UTOPiA Con, she worked in the editorial department at one of the largest independent book publishers in the US. She holds a bachelor degree in sociology from MTSU and a certificate for Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). She is bilingual in English and Spanish. She has experience proofreading, copyediting, line editing, and developmental editing YA and middle grade novels, adult nonfiction, and picture books. Jessie’s editorial style is about helping the author’s voice shine through — polishing, not demolishing. She believes that a good relationship between the publisher and the author is the best way to serve the reader.
Joemel Requeza is the concept artist, graphic artist and illustrator of all the artwork at Fire Quill Publishing. He resides in the Philippines, and is eager to work with everyone who wants him to do the impossible. He graduated at the top of his class at the Technological University of the Philippines. His covers consists of The Dragonian Series and Dream Casters.

Anika DeBeer is the office administrator and CEO’S assistant. As a picky reader, she loves mainstream novels that immediately pulls her into the story. She favors romance, fantasy, and mystery novels.
